What You’ll Learn

There is a growing demand for interactive audiovisual media experiences, mobile application and video game production. Students in this interdisciplinary program are exposed to the latest innovations in digital media to create visually stunning and timely interactive experiences.

The Interactive Design for Media major is a hybrid program of the College of Creative Arts and Reed College of Media, which means you get the best of both worlds. Learn how to tell effective and engaging stories through courses in the College of Media and learn the principles of art and design at the College of Creative Arts. Mix in a couple coding courses, and you’ll be ready to tackle any new medium in any industry.

Coursework will expose students to the history, guiding principles, ethics, diversity and cultural issues related to design, technology and interactive media. And, skills-based courses will provide students with ample hands-on opportunities in the technologies and design thinking relevant to digital, interactive platforms.

Hone your creative and analytical skills to evolve with this ever-changing industry. Be prepared for a career as a project manager, multimedia artist, interactive media developer/communicator, animator or web designer.
