Mountaineer Quest

Start the Adventure Before Classes Begin

The WVU Reed College of Media and Adventure WV are offering a unique summer orientation experience designed specifically for first-year Journalism and Advertising/Public Relations students. Learn about yourself, your classmates, the College of Media, WVU and the state of West Virginia – and create long-lasting connections with College of Media upperclassmen and faculty.

Adventure WV: College of Media participants also receive:
  • Priority enrollment in a College of Media section of the fall orientation course
  • Hands-on experience producing multimedia projects documenting your Adventure WV experiences

During the summer program, participants travel throughout the state to producing projects documenting their Adventure WV experiences, work together to complete activities and get to know other students in their major. In addition to the Adventure WV staff member, the program will be led by a Reed College of Media faculty member. Students will be placed in an orientation class in the fall with their Quest cohort.

Additional details and registration information for upcoming Adventure WV: College of Media programs are available on the WVU Adventure WV website.

Questions about the program should be directed to the College’s Assistant Dean for Student and Enrollment Services Tricia Petty at
