M.S. Integrated Marketing Communications (West Virginia University)
Zac Carrier is a marketing and communications professional with more than a decade of experience in media and public relations, marketing, advertising, crisis and internal communications, and business writing.
He currently serves as the Assistant Director of University Relations at West Virginia University Institute of Technology in Beckley, West Virginia, where he works on a small, rockstar team (with fellow Reed instructor, Jen Wood Cunningham) that handles everything from marketing and promotion to media and community relations.
A first-generation college student, Zac earned his undergraduate degree in English from Shepherd University in Shepherdstown, West Virginia. In the early 2000s, he spent half a decade working in the restaurant business, where he got his first real experience in marketing and promotion.
Since then, he has worked as a marketing and public relations professional in home renovation, the energy sector, and, of course, higher education. He has led the development of hundreds of successful campaigns and initiatives, with professional experience in email marketing campaigns, social media marketing, print and promotional projects, crisis communications plans, internal campaigns, digital advertising, magazines, newsletters, analytics, market research, website management, and technical writing.
He holds a master’s degree in Integrated Marketing Communications from the Reed College of Media at West Virginia University.
Zac lives in Charleston, West Virginia with his better half, Rachel. If you ever see a large, bearded man frantically chasing a chihuahua named Moose through the streets of Charleston, that’s him.
