Director of Experiential, Complex Networks

Marissa Hecker is the director of experiential at Complex Networks, a global media company comprised of dynamic youth culture brands (Complex, First We Feast, Sole Collector and Pigeons & Planes). In her role, she develops departmental processes for the company’s events division and directs the brand partnerships operations for ComplexCon, an annual cultural festival attracting over 80,000 attendees.
During her seven-year tenure at Complex Networks, Marissa has served as a leader in a variety of capacities. She joined the company in 2013 as a senior digital account manager, where she managed pre and post-sale processes by strategically planning, executing and stewarding digital media campaigns within fashion and sneakers, consumer electronics and entertainment verticals. Marissa continued her work in ad operations and was promoted to associate director, then transitioned to brand partnerships as the associate director of project management—driving the post-sale process for diverse client programs grossing $50 million annually. Prior to Complex, Marissa was an associate marketing manager at Condé Nast, where she led production of digital advertising campaigns, video shoots and activations for the Epicurious brand.
Mentorship is a passion point for Marissa and is her key to success. When asked how to describe her, Marissa’s team noted that she is authentic, empowering and fair. Marissa’s efforts and collaborative leadership style have led to recognition for ComplexCon in the Adweek Experiential Awards in 2019 and 2020, as well as Ad Age’s Best of Experiential list for 2020.
Marissa earned a bachelor’s degree in Management from the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a master’s degree in New Media Management from Syracuse University. She is a California native and currently lives in Los Angeles. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, collecting sneakers, fitness, and discovering new hiking trails.
