WVU Media Camps

WVU Media Camps are three-day summer programs for high school students. Students participate in workshops to enhance their communication, photography, video and journalism skills, as well as improve their understanding of media in the modern world.

What: Students learn fundamentals of Journalism while exploring new and innovative ways to tell stories. Workshops will focus on writing, photography, video, social media strategy, and augmented and virtual reality. Students will learn the difference between Journalism and Brand Storytelling and their importance in the current market by creating pieces related to both.

Who: High school students interested in Journalism, Public Relations, and media

When: June 17 - 19, 2019

Cost and Lodging: Camp is $200 includes two nights lodging at WVU Oakland Hall on the Evansdale Campus, meals and activities.

WVU Sports and Adventure Media Camp

What: Sports and Adventure Media Campers will have the opportunity to put their adventure video skills in action through a variety of activities including capturing footage while zip lining through the hills of West Virginia. Students will build skills in writing, photography, video, social media strategy, and sports editing and reporting.

Who: High school students interested in Sports and Adventure Media

When: June 24 - 26, 2019
