Ketchum, one of the largest and most diverse public relations agencies, is now accepting applications for its Summer Fellows Program. Positions are available in New York, Chicago, Dallas, Atlanta, Washington, DC, San Francisco and Los Angeles. Summer Fellows work hand in hand with practices to learn the business, serve clients and develop PR skills. They will assist with project research, writing and media relations efforts to support client programs. Fellowships will be available in specialty areas, which generally require a more specific skill set.

The WVU Reed College of Media offers a limited number of Student Enhancement Awards, cash awards to students who have secured major-market journalism internships or have been accepted in a journalism study-abroad programs. Mark Durham, News Director for WVNS-TV, the CBS/Fox affiliate in Beckley/Bluefield, West Virginia, will be visiting Martin Hall on Friday, February 27th to interview May graduates for reporting and producing positions. He has space in his schedule to meet with 11 of you. Interviews will be conducted between 1pm and 5pm in Room 101 of Martin Hall.

The WVU Reed College of Media invites current undergraduate students to apply for scholarships for the 2015-16 academic year.
This is an especially exciting time at the College of Media, as a number of new scholarships have recently been created. Interested students must complete the Scholarship Application by 4 p.m. on March 20, 2015. Completed applications will be reviewed by the College of Media Selection Committee. As financial need is a determinant in scholarship selection, students must also submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

The Radio Television Digital News Foundation (RTDNF) invites college undergraduate students to apply now for one of the Foundation’s 7 undergraduate scholarships for the Fall 2015-Spring 2016 academic year. The deadline to apply is April 30, 2015.
We offer scholarships for students of color, a prize for sports reporting, awards in memory of journalism pioneers, and more. Students can take our quiz see which scholarship is the best fit for them.

Jonathan Lacocque, the owner of Coat of Arms Postproduction will be on campus tomorrow (Thursday, February 19) and would like to meet with some students who might be a good fit for an internship this semester. Interview times are extremely limited *.
This opportunity does not require college credit, so you could start immediately and gain valuable experience.
Mr. Lacocque is looking for two interns: one in Film and Brand Marketing and one Associate Producer. Both positions are unpaid, but Mr. Lacocque said that these could expand into a freelance opportunity.
The City of Morgantown is looking for a part time videographer to produce public meetings. Their meetings are usually held Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings, and they last anywhere from 30 minutes to a couple of hours. Videographers arrive about 20 minutes before each meeting, set up mics and cameras, connect to the live feed and then produce the meeting using three cameras and some basic graphics. While video experience is preferred, any student can easily handle this without a whole lot of training.
