GENERAL SUMMARY AND PURPOSE:
Charles Ryan Associates, in Charleston, W.Va., seeks an entry level position responsible for a variety of roles and functions to support and assist the Media Department. Candidates must be comfortable with math; have an outgoing personality; a passion for media and buying; the ability to deal with a variety of people and be detailed oriented and a true multi-tasker. Ideal candidate will work closely with the Media Director and provide support to the buyers within the department.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Education: A Bachelor’s Degree in Advertising, Marketing or a related field is required.
- Experience: Solid experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook are required. —Ability to use STRATA or SmartPlus buying software is preferred.
- Travel and working outside regular hours are required.
DUTIES:
- Provides assistance to Media Buyers to ensure integrity and efficiency of buys.
- Update media rep information.
- Requests information and establishes contact with existing and new advertising vendors for media kits, rates and research materials.
- Send out traffic instructions to media vendors.
- Send out all contracts and follow up to ensure signed contracts are returned.
- Assists in maintaining buys and enter avails/rates into STRATA.
- Makes non-detailed buy changes for all mediums as directed by Media Buyers.
- Handles all makegoods, pre-emptions, traffic calls and general information.
- Reconciles and prepares invoices for payment; resolves discrepancies with vendors.
- Preparation and placement of print, radio & outdoor media insertions.
- Negotiation of space reservations & deadline extensions with media representatives.
- Maintains all media files.
