College of Physical Activity & Sport Sciences Alumni Relations / Communications office
Time line: Summer 2009
Beginning July 1-August 7; with possible extension through fall semester, based on student’s performance and availability.
Duties include, but are not limited to the following:
- College’s newsletter-intern will research and write articles, shoot photos.
- Media relations/communications-research and write news releases; interact with WVU News Info Services
- Alumni relations event planning-help with event planning arrangements; contact guests/alumni via phone, and email to confirm attendance; prepare event flyers, letters, invitations.
- Work with vendors-related to event planning, printing projects, etc.
- Provide project support for various faculty, program areas
Additional assignment
- One of our Visiting Committee members needs help with completing a booklet highlighting his career. He has a draft of the contents, and wants someone to help him add photos and other images.
General requirements:
- Student should be available a min. of 10-15 hours per week
- Work may be prepared off site and submitted electronically
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, to include Word and
- Excel required
