THE DAILY ATHENAEUM IS HIRING

The Daily Athenaeum is now accepting applications for the position of Web Editor for the 2009-10 school year. The Web Editor is a newly created position developed by The Daily Athenaeum that will be responsible for all Web-based content of the newspaper. The Web Editor will update the newspaper’s Web site on a nightly basis on every production date (five times per week during the fall and spring semesters), will be required to develop and post multimedia to the Web site and keep in constant contact with all editors, writers, etc., involved with the Web process.

The Web Editor must have the basic knowledge of computers/graphics and online Web posting. Previous Web site development and knowledge of Adobe software is preferred, but not required.

This is a paid position and is expected to serve throughout the 2009-10 school year. The selected editor is expected to report by August 16, 2009 for training. Applicants must have a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 or better and must be a full-time, fee paying student.

Candidates can pick up an application and job description at The Daily Athenaeum office at 284 Prospect St. In addition to the application form, a candidate should submit examples of previous work that illustrate qualifications for the position.

Completed forms must be submitted at The Daily Athenaeum office by August 7, 2009. Interviews will be conducted by the Editor-in-Chief and Managing Editor at a date to be announced. A schedule of interview times and locations will be e-mailed to all applicants.
