Advising changes for SOJ students

ATTENTION Direct Admit and Fully Admitted SOJ Students!

In response to student feedback, the SOJ is making several positive changes to our academic advising. We believe these changes will improve your advising experience and ensure you are on track to graduate.

Beginning this semester, you will schedule your classes with professional advisers in the SOJ Advising Center (Rooms 107/108 Martin Hall). These individuals are familiar with our curriculum and program requirements and will be dedicated to help you during the advising period. There will also be an adviser on call throughout the semester to answer your questions during regular working hours. In addition, we are returning to one-on-one advising appointments, rather than group advising.

You will receive a personal email later this week assigning you to your new adviser, along with information on how to register online for your advising appointment. Your records from your previous faculty adviser will be transferred to the SOJ advising center.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Jan Boyles, Director of Advising, at jan.boyles@mail.wvu.edu.
