Title: Center on Aging Web Development/ Graphic Design Internship

Hours: Flexible and negotiable. 4 hours per week at the minimum.
Duties: The task is to take a current website of the Center On Aging, http://WVSeniors.org
and revamp it. Redesign it, restyle it, make it more efficient and ultimately increase the traffic and usage of this site. I want this site to become dynamic again.
The COA is looking for someone, therefore, who understands a little about website design as well as graphic design. I need a mix of both skills for this project. This student could have a great deal of independence in this project, depending on their skill level.
Ideally seeking an upperclassman, but will consider an underclassman with excellent skill set.
We want to look at ways to improve the website; so adding features to it will probably be a part of what the student does. We have several features that we want to remove, as well. We have a web developer in house, who will help with the “manual labor” of writing code, HTML, etc., but really want the student to take the lead on this project to allow her time to work on some other things as well.
This website was designed as a website devoted to our older adults; and we expanded the site to address the needs of those who care for them, their families and healthcare professionals who work with them. We want the website to maintain that pronged approach and focus.
Most of the work would be done here, at the Center on Aging, and we are in process of ordering a new computer for the student to work from. There is a potential, as well, for some of the work to be done remotely.
