TheStreet.com is looking for social media, editorial and video journalism interns

TheStreet.com, Inc. is a leading digital financial media company. We provide our readers and advertisers with a variety of subscription-based and advertising-supported content and tools through a range of online platforms, including web sites, mobile devices, email services, widgets, blogs, podcasts and online video channels. Our goal is to be the primary independent source of reliable and actionable investing ideas, news and analysis, financial data and analytical tools for a growing audience of self-directed investors, as well as to assist advertisers desiring to connect with our passionate, affluent audience.

TheStreet is looking for smart, energetic interns for several positions in the areas of Editorial, Social Media, and Video Journalism. Each of the qualified candidates will have specific job duties that pertain to the area of focus. You must be currently enrolled as an undergrad/grad student and interested in the field.

Editorial Intern: will assist the reporters and editors on daily breaking news stories as well as work on special projects. Duties will include keeping an advance calendar of earnings and economic reports as well as minor editorial assistant –level journalism work.

Social Media Intern: will need to be a web savvy, and innovative to aid our Audience Development team. You will be working closely with our social media coordinators, content editors and creators to extend our presence on social networking sites (including but not limited to, Facebook,Twitter, Linkedin, YouTube and blogosphere), aid our blogger outreach and generate community development initiatives to share in Audience Development meetings. The ideal candidate will possess familiarity with major social media platforms and trends, have excellent attention to detail, strong writing and communications skills, and have strong analytical skills with working knowledge of Excel.

Video Journalism intern: will assist the video department by promoting video through social media. Responsibilities will include pitching story ideas, transcribing audio, booking guest, assisting in daily scheduling, as well as being responsible for personal finance, small business written and video stories (as seen fit,) along with various administrative duties. Must be able to work independently and be self-motivated and organized.
