SOJ to host Oscar-nominated film producers Junger and Hetherington

 Sebastian JungerIn February, the School of Journalism will partner with the WVU DAVID C. Hardesty Festival of Ideas
 to host internationally acclaimed author Sebastian Junger. Junger is the best-selling author of "The Perfect Storm," "A Death in Belmont" and "Fire." His most recent book, "WAR," looks at the reality of combat, including the fear, horror, trust, and commitment soldiers have to one another.

Junger and his colleague, Tim Hetherington, also produced the Oscar-nominated documentary "Restrepo," which premiered on national television in late November. The documentary takes a closer look a the deployment of a platoon of U.S. soldiers in Afghanistan's Korengal Valley. Junger's public leacture, co-sponsored by the School's Ogden Newspapers Seminar Series, will be on Feb. 22 at 7:30 pm at the WVU Creative Arts Center. 

Junger and Hetherington will visit Martin Hall earlier that day for small-group discussions with SOJ students.
