WV Uncovered project highlighted in Chronicle of Higher Education

The School of Journalism’s “West Virginia Uncovered” project was recently featured in The Chronicle of Higher Education’s technology news section. The article discusses how the School’s unique approach to online journalism has helped more than a dozen small newspapers make the digital leap. In addition, it features the School’s “Mobile Main Street” project – an extension of “West Virginia Uncovered” headed by Assistant Professor Dana Coester – in which faculty and students are working to create smartphone applications for legacy news organizations in rural areas. Mon Health System seeks web intern

Mon Health System is seeking an intern with a media-web background to assist with the re-development of its website, beginning as early as August 1.

The candidate will assist in writing informational pieces on various service lines and programs, utilizing their educational experience. It is estimated that the candidate would work in the 15 hour per week range, throughout the Fall semester. The internship is unpaid, however, the experience would prove beneficial in the marketplace, particularly in a healthcare setting.
