If you are serious about photojournalism, serious about doing documentary photography, serious about getting a major kick in your learning curve, then this workshop is for you! It has touched and changed many lives, launched the careers of many major photographers and editors in the world of photojournalism- mainstream and not- for now going on 63 years. People like Russell Lee, Roy Stryker, Bill Marr, Randy Olson, Jodi Cobb, Sarah Leen, Andrew Lichtensteen, Brian Storm, Daryl Peveto to name just a few.

The Missouri Photo Workshop (mpw) is offering a full scholarship for exceptional students.

$1,100 includes $600 mpw tuition waiver for one WVU student and $500 stipend provided by the PIR SOJ to cover room, board, and gas to get there!

Applications should be submitted in person to Professor Lois Raimondo, Martin Hall 310, or placed in her mailbox in the main office by 5 p.m. September 7th. No late acceptances!

Application must include:

  • A 20-image digital portfolio of your best work on CD with complete caption information. Links to video/multimedia clips can be part of this portfolio. If you have already worked on a extended visual narrative- story or essay- that is portfolio worthy, please include that.
  • A 500-word essay stating why you want to go to this particular workshop and what you hope to gain by going.
