The Missouri School of Journalism seeks papers for Young Scholars Conference

The Missouri School of Journalism seeks papers for a Young Scholars Conference , to be held Feb. 9-11, 2012, in Columbia, Mo. The conference theme is “War and the Press,” and scholars from all disciplines are welcome. Young scholars are defined as doctoral and graduate students, as well as professors in the first four years of their careers.
Papers may be single or jointly authored. Those interested should submit a five-page abstract outlining the proposed paper’s background and rationale (with supporting literature), research questions and hypotheses, method, and appropriate bibliography by Nov. 1, 2011, to cepnr9@mail.missouri.edu. Include “War and the Press Submission” in the email subject line.
Those selected to present at the conference will be notified by December 1, 2011. Final conference-ready papers will be due Feb. 9, 2012. A partial travel stipend will be awarded to the authors of accepted papers. The conference is co-sponsored by the University of Missouri School of Journalism, Reynolds Journalism Institute, and The Journal of Mass Media Ethics.
