Covenant House seeks summer intern

Covenant House is offering a full-time, unpaid summer internship to qualified candidates. The internship lasts approximately 8—12 weeks, and start and stop dates will be mutually agreed upon between the agency and intern.

Covenant House of West Virginia is dedicated to working for justice by offering direct services for people in need while creating social change through advocacy and education. Interns will serve as active team members working with staff to design, write and produce a newsletter and develop a marketing/ public relations strategy using social media. Responsibilities will include drafting copy and editing; building media lists; mailings; brainstorming ideas; researching; utilizing media; and more.

Qualifications:
· A basic understanding of public relations and advertising
· Interest in the progressive, non-profit sector
· Writing and editing skills
· Communication and teamwork skills
