WV FREE seeks public relations summer intern

WV FREE is offering a full-time summer internship that runs for 8 to 12 weeks. Start and stop dates will be mutually agreed upon between the organization and intern.

WV FREE is based in Charleston, WV. We are a reproductive justice organization that works every day for West Virginia women and families to improve education on reproductive options, increase access to affordable birth control, and protect personal decision-making, including decisions about whether or when to have child. We represent a wide variety of people in West Virginia.

Interns will act as full-functioning staff members working on advocacy and organizational efforts.

Responsibilities include
Public relations work utilizing social media tools, including facebook, twitter, and online petitions
Researching current reproductive health access issues 
Writing letters to the editor of newspapers 
Contacting media outlets
Scheduling and coordinating events
Maintaining database 
Conducting video interviews

Qualifications:
A basic understanding of public relations and organizing
Interest in the progressive, non-profit sector
Must be pro-choice
Strong writing and editing skills
An understanding of social networking sites
Completed at least 2 semesters of undergraduate courses
