Mon General is offering an unpaid summer internship to a student who has demonstrated experience and working knowledge of websites and social media. The position may involve interviewing some hospital service line directors about their areas of expertise and writing website copy.

Once an underground newspaper, Racer X Illustrated is now the largest and most influential publication in the motocross and off-road industry and is based right here in Morgantown, W.Va.

Every month, Davey Coombs and his crew of talented friends put out the best magazine in the business, filled with incredible photos, in-depth race coverage, leading-edge design, humor and the ultimate insiders knowledge of the motocross and supercross world. Racer X Illustrated is the magazine the other motocross publications are trying to follow.

The Butler Eagle has an opening for an editorial writer. They are looking for someone to discuss issues in the fast growing county of Butler, Pa., just north of Pittsburgh.

The focus is on local and state editorials with a moderate point of view, but national issues also can be covered.
Duties include selecting columns and letters to the editor. Some copy desk work is also included. The writer would share the responsibilities of the editorial page with another person.

Job Description:
The intern for this position will work on audio visual projects and editing for West Virginia Public Theater’s social media websites (Facebook, Youtube). This opportunity is unpaid.

Qualifications:
Experience with video recording and editing. Experience with social media websites. Access to video editing equipment is preferred. Flexible schedule.

West Virginia Junior College seeks a Career Management Director for its Morgantown Campus.

Purpose:
The fundamental responsibility of the institution is to provide graduates with the opportunity to develop and manage a professional career in their chosen field of study. As such, the career management department is the essential foundation for the achievement of that goal. The Career Management Director is responsible for building career management and job seeking skills with students, networking and building relationships in the community, planning events, utilizing social media and new technology and handling alumni relations.

The Chronicle of Higher Education is seeking editorial interns for the fall-2012 session. The internships are paid, full-time positions in their Washington, D.C., office, and will run from September through December. Duties include reporting and writing brief features for their print edition, and daily news articles for their website. The application deadline is Friday, June 1. Dow Jones Newswires’ Rewrite desk is a breaking news team that writes the first version of most corporate news, such as earnings, mergers and executive appointments, released by press release or SEC filing for the newswire and The Wall Street Journal’s website. The team operates on 15- to 20-minute deadlines, so working well under pressure is a must. Writers generally focus on three to four industries but have to be prepared to cover any news. The team also looks to break news by chasing intraday stock moves. Successful candidates generally have at least a basic understanding of earnings statements and write clearly and quickly on deadline.
