WVU Alumni Association to host Game Day celebrations

The highly anticipated start of the 2012 West Virginia University football season is here. The WVU Alumni Association is ready to kick off its Game Day celebrations at home in The Erickson Alumni Center and on the road with entertainment, food, and great Mountaineer fellowship.

The tradition of Game Day continues for all home game events at The Erickson Alumni Center’s Mountaineer Courtyard. The pre-game events feature unique menus, entertainment and fun for fans of all ages.

“There is no place like Morgantown on a football Saturday, and we look forward to welcoming alumni and friends to The Erickson Alumni Center for another great year of ‘Game Day,’” said Steve Douglas, president and CEO of the WVU Alumni Association.

“We have unbelievable menus and entertainment, and this year, U-92, our student-run radio station will be joining us live from the alumni center on game days. It is a great atmosphere and the perfect location for Mountaineers to get geared up for the game.”

In addition to the home game celebrations, the WVU Alumni Association will be traveling to all away games, including new Big 12 venues, to provide fans with special pre-game events where they can gather with fellow Mountaineers prior to the games.

Tickets for home events are $20 a person with advanced registration. A limited number of walk-ins will be available for purchase at a cost of $25 per ticket. Fans are encouraged to make their reservations now to ensure admittance to the events. Detailed menus, additional information and online registration for both home and away events can be found on the “Game Day” web site at: http://alumni.wvu.edu/game-day. Tickets can also be purchased by contacting the Alumni Association.

For those fans looking for a convenient place to park, the Alumni Association offers game day parking at cost of $25 a car, based on availability. All Game Day celebrations begin two and a half hours prior to kickoff. For more information, please call (304) 293-4731.
