WVU Alumni Association to host Game Day celebrations

The highly anticipated start of the 2012 West Virginia University football season is here. The WVU Alumni Association is ready to kick off its Game Day celebrations at home in The Erickson Alumni Center and on the road with entertainment, food, and great Mountaineer fellowship.

The tradition of Game Day continues for all home game events at The Erickson Alumni Center’s Mountaineer Courtyard. The pre-game events feature unique menus, entertainment and fun for fans of all ages.

Roanoke Times seeks interns -- Deadline Dec. 1!

The Roanoke Times offers a collegial newsroom that has become a national leader in integrating online reporting and print journalism. Every intern reports to a senior editor who assigns and edits stories, approves publication and provides advice and guidance during the summer. Interns will receive training throughout their internship.

Cap off your WVU PR experience with a fabulous opportunity. PR 459 – the Capstone Course for seniors – will serve as an “agency” for a global health care client located in Italy and will work on an important “real life” project. This four credit hour class will meet weekly in Morgantown throughout the spring semester and travel to Italy during Spring Break.

Sunlight Foundation Seeks Research Intern

The Sunlight Foundation is seeking a Research intern, who will help to build and curate data sets and assist a senior fellow in various research projects on the role of campaign money and lobbying in politics. The research intern will also have opportunities to conduct and publish original research and writing under the supervision of the senior fellow.

The ideal intern candidate is committed to a more transparent and accountable government, has policy-related Hill experience, experience writing about policy issues or both. Additionally, the candidate is detail-oriented, able to multitask, and capable of working independently. Familiarity with blogging, wikis, and social media is a plus. The candidate must have completed at least two years of college; enrollment or completion of graduate school will be viewed favorably.
