Five students from the School of Journalism served as communications interns this month for the nation’s largest community service project of its kind in U.S. history.
The Reaching the Summit Community Service Initiative brought together thousands of Boy Scouts, members of the WVU Football team, AmeriCorps and other volunteer organizations to complete some 350 service projects in nine West Virginia counties.
SOJ students assisted with promoting the five-day event via social media blasts, Instagram photos, press releases and other media. Students who attended were all senior public relations majors and included Brittany Lavenski, Daniel Edwards, Phalyn Burr, Elayna Conard, and Jordan Pack.
