ALL MAJORS: Baltimore-based journalism startup “News Up” seeks editorial interns for the Spring ‘15 semester. You’ll work directly with the editorial director to conceptualize and produce content. The ideal candidate will have a deep affinity for all things pop culture, current events and social media. Send resume, cover letter (explaining why you’d be a good fit for the job), a sample 8-question quiz (like those seen on NewsUp.me) and links to your Facebook, Twitter, blog or any other relevant social media that you think shows off your skills. VISJ/TVJ The Connected in Hope Foundation, an international nonprofit aimed at empowering women, seeks a Videography/Photography/Storyteller intern to document their efforts in Ethiopia. JOURNALISM: Spend the summer working with Nieman Lab via the Google Journalism Fellowship. The tech giant is offering opportunities for students to work with ten different journalism organizations next summer. The deadline to apply is January 31. ALL MAJORS: Love the stories shared by “Humans of New York?” The Morgantown Coordinating Council on Homelessness seeks a PAID Facebook Administrator for its “Zero: 2016 – Ending Homelessness in Our Community” Facebook page. $10/hour, 10 hours per week through January, 5 hours per week February through May. Must be available now (time off for Christmas and New Year’s Day). PUBLIC RELATIONS: The WVU College of Education and Human Services seeks PAID Press Release Writing/Layout Intern. Pays $12/hour. Intern will write news stories and designing brochures for the College. Must be able to work 20 hours per week, ability to use Photoshop, Illustrator or InDesign a plus. Must be comfortable communicating with faculty and proficient in AP style. WVU Extension Service seeks PAID multimedia interns for Spring 2015. Produce videos and assist with writing projects. You’ll collect historical narratives and photographs and transform them into video shorts as part of the West Virginia and national 4-H archives. Pay is between $11 and $12/hour. Work between 12-20 hours per week while enrolled in classes. You will primarily work from Knapp Hall (on Beechurst).
