The Hershey Company has an opportunity for a summer intern in Strategic Communications. The intern will support the Strategic Communications Senior Manager and the Strategic Communications team in developing programs and communications materials for our food transparency initiatives, which include improving information access to ingredient and nutrition information, in addition to our global signature cause: child malnutrition.
The duration of this internship will run May/June – August 2015 and requires 40 hours per week.
The WVU Reed College of Media offers a limited number of Student Enhancement Awards, cash awards to students who have secured major-market journalism internships or have been accepted in a journalism study-abroad programs. The Virginias Associated Press Broadcasters group has a scholarship available for students pursuing a career in broadcast/television journalism. The candidate must be enrolled in undergraduate or graduate studies at a college or university in Virginia or West Virginia at the time of the application deadline of March 1, 2015.
The $500 scholarship is awarded every other year and the recipient is invited to attend the annual Virginias AP Broadcast awards lunch. The annual luncheon typically attracts nearly 100 working broadcast journalists representing all types of jobs in the field—from news directors to sportscasters to videographers to web managers and general managers. The luncheon recognizes Virginia and West Virginia stations for their best work of 2014 and includes categories such as Best Newscast, Documentary, Feature, Play-by-Play, etc.
Friends of the Cheat, Inc., a non-profit, grassroots, watershed group based out of Kingwood, West Virginia, seeks a dynamic individual or team to take over the daily management, planning, and development of the organization’s web and print media, including the group’s two websites, blog, Facebook pages, print and electronic newsletter, e-mail communications, and special media associated with outreach and fundraising events and opportunities.

Senator Manchin seeks an enthusiastic, professional student or recent post-graduate to start an immediate press internship this spring to assist an aggressive and fast-paced press office. Tasks include compiling daily press and broadcast clips, organizing, maintaining and updating media lists, drafting press releases, assisting with social media, conducting brief research projects as well as additional tasks to assist the press team. The Plum Tuckered Film Festival celebrates stories of life, adventure and culture. Hosted in Tucker County, West Virginia, the festival’s primary goal is to shine a light on films and filmmakers of our area. In its inaugural year, Plum Tuckered is focusing on the art of short film—preferably less than 20 minutes. Films must have completed production between April 1, 2013 and March 27, 2015.
