Ad Club members place second in regional AAF competition

AAF

Earlier this month, students in WVU’s Ad Club earned second place in the regional American Advertising Federation’s (AAF) National Student Advertising Competition.

Each year the AAF partners with a major corporate client to challenge over 200 college chapters across the country to develop an integrated marketing campaign for a specific product, service or brand aimed at diverse target markets. The corporate sponsor provides a case study outlining a real-world situation facing the company. Students must research the product and its competition, identify potential problem areas and collaborate to devise a completely integrated marketing campaign for the client.

This year the client was Pizza Hut, and the WVU team participated as part of a new Virtual District with AAF, pitching their integrated plans book during a 20-minute presentation, followed by a Q&A. The students that actively worked on the NSAC Pizza Hut campaign include Valerie Bennett, Josh Bryant-Gainer, Chris Chow, Lindsey Folco, Charity Junkins, Rueben Lee, Ben Lobosco, Ryan McNamara, Nikki Ryder, Chris Schad, and Toni Yelenic. The official presenters were Charity Junkins, Ben Lobosco, Ryan McNamara and Toni Yelenic. Read more about the competition and the district winners online.
