On Saturday, May 16, WVU Reed College of Media celebrated the achievements of more than 200 master’s and bachelor’s degree candidates. The College held its 146th ceremony at WVU’s Creative Arts Center. ESPN executive Rob King was the keynote speaker. King, who is senior vice president for “SportsCenter” and ESPN News, provided four pieces of advice with the 2015 graduating class.

King told graduates that making mistakes is fine – you just need to learn from them. He shared the story of how he made significant errors on the NCAA bracket at a local Illinois newspaper where he worked years ago. But, of course, now he runs “SportsCenter.” King also encouraged the graduates to have empathy for others, maintain a positive attitude and be flexible.

President E. Gordon Gee attended the ceremony as well. He gave graduates one “final test”—a selfie.
