The University of Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, is hiring an Executive Speechwriter to support the Chancellor. Responsible for preparing original, professional, effective and compelling high-profile communications. Expected to research, verify content, and transform complex concepts into clear, meaningful communications. Requires business acumen and the ability to think strategically. Executive Speechwriter is responsible for preparing original, professional, effective, and compelling high-profile communications that are relevant on local, regional, and national platforms and capture the vision and message of the Chancellor and the University. The Executive Speechwriter will write, edit, and produce content for speeches, talking points, press releases, presentations, keynote addresses, video scripts, daily correspondence, and other communications of significance on behalf of the Chancellor and other designated senior leadership within the Office of the Chancellor, tailoring communications as necessary to address audiences of various constituencies and industries. As such, the Executive Speechwriter will be charged with engaging and cultivating relationships with numerous constituencies including, but not limited to, University leadership, faculty, staff, students, alumni, and critical external stakeholders to understand the viewpoints and dynamics of these populations.
