The National Association of Black Journalists offers a summer internship with NBC Universal in New York. While they have not yet posted applications for Summer 2016, now is the time to start preparing your application. Fellows in this program will be assigned to work for 10 weeks (at $10/hour) with one of NBC News’s programs. You must be a current member of NABJ, be a sophomore, junior, senior or graduate student and must be able to relocate to New York for the full summer program. You’ll need to submit a resume, cover letter, school transcript, and five work samples. · Your Community Foundation (based in Morgantown) has immediate need for a PAID writing/social media/marketing intern. Pays $10.50-$16.50/hour (commensurate with experience). 20 hours per week. Preference given to students who can make a two-semester commitment. Duties include helping market YCF’s “Opportunity Day” to businesses of varying sizes throughout North Central WV. · The Arthur Guyton Foundation (nonprofit focusing on world youth health issues) seeks an Event Coordinator Intern. · West Virginia Women Work, a statewide nonprofit supporting economic equity for women, is looking for an intern interested n learning the various aspects of nonprofit/business promotion and management. This intern would assist with social media, marketing, advertising, PR, fundraising and other duties. Candidates must be dependable and have excellent communication skills. · WVU Hockey seeks an intern to assist with the operational side of game day broadcasting. This includes using Livestream to produce an interactive live feed of home and away games. Qualified applicants will have skills with Microsoft Windows, Wireless Networking, TCP/IP configuration and troubleshooting, Audio/video troubleshooting skills. CompTIA A+ certification is preferred. · The Louisville, Kentucky Courier-Journal is accepting applications for its summer internship program. Students must have completed one year of college, but also may be recent graduates. Reporters must have a maximum of 10 published clips. Photographers must have a portfolio of up to 20 single photos (video experience is a plus), multimedia applicants should have a basic knowledge of web publishing and HTML and experience with graphic design and web page creation. Interns work for 40 hours per week for 12 weeks. Pays $500/week.
