Favorite part of your job?

Getting to be creative with the type of content we’re producing for the brand. Social media is fast-paced with trends coming and going every day.  My team and I are constantly brainstorming new ideas and innovative ways to connect with our audiences. I even get to help film content for our social platforms which is so much fun.

How did the College of Media prepare you for your future?

During my time at the College of Media, I was able to gain real-world experience throughout my classes, internships and organizations. Several of my classes worked with clients in the community, so I was able to create content and strategies that would be used to promote nonprofits or businesses. Whether it be drafting press releases, designing infographics, editing video or producing a social media strategy, all of these skills can prepare you for any role in the media industry.

Favorite WVU/College of Media memory?

My favorite College of Media memory is when I got to study abroad in England over spring break. My capstone class was able to work with a nonprofit organization throughout the semester with a goal to rebrand. My classmates and I prepped our ideas, then presented to the client. Not only did our plans get put into motion, but were we able to help promote a wonderful cause. This was a wonderful way to get international experience with a client and have fun while traveling overseas.

What is your advice for current students?

Get involved on campus! Joining organizations, like PRSSA, not only allowed me to meet new people, but experience new opportunities. This leads to friendships and chances to participate in extra-circular activities that can further your career. You never know the kind of connections you can make.
