Student Q&A: Carleigh Minor

Carleigh Minor


Carleigh Minor is a senior Journalism major with a minor in Mass Communications from Castile, New York. She spent this past summer interning at WIVB-TV in Buffalo where she worked side-by-side with professional news and sports reporters. She was also a freelance writer for the Wrangell Sentinel in Wrangell, Alaska. 

What is your favorite Media College memory? Attending the National RTDNA22 Convention in Indianapolis.

What are your career aspirations? My career aspirations involve becoming an investigative reporter.

What advice do you have for new College of Media students? Get involved with student organizations. They will provide endless opportunities to make connections!

What was your favorite class/experience? My favorite class experience is in my Public Affairs course with Professor Dahlia - she makes class enjoyable but informational, and she makes us treats😀. 

What is your major takeaway from your time so far at the College? Getting involved in student organizations makes you more valuable, marketable and successful when you leave the University.
