Minor in Entertainment Media

As the market becomes more cluttered with entertainment options and technological advances make it easier and easier to tune out the choices that don’t interest the consumer, entertainment companies will rely more and more on the media to bring their goods to the top of the consumers’ awareness. A recent Edelman study found that 88% of all respondents would likely take action on social media if they enjoy a piece of entertainment. The value of social media and other new media technologies is evident, and it is in the College of Media’s best interest to provide adequate training to students who seek to use their skills to break into this aspect of the entertainment industry.
