Carolyn Sennett is an adjunct instructor with 20 years of experience writing and editing in the print and digital communication industries, which includes developing content for newspapers, magazines, websites, e-newsletters, blogs and other marketing channels.
She started her career in journalism and then transitioned into corporate communications and marketing with Erie Insurance, a Fortune 500 company headquartered in Erie. Pa. Her responsibilities have included developing and managing content for the company’s public site and intranet, which won the Lawrence Ragan Communications grand prize for the best intranet. Before working for Erie Insurance, she was an editor with Record Publishing, a newspaper publishing company in northeastern Ohio. She wrote news and feature stories, managed a staff of four reporters and freelance writers, and covered city council in Hudson, Ohio.
Through her professional and academic experiences, Sennett has developed a passion for content marketing and how to deliver valuable and compelling information to drive consumer awareness and action. Course projects, papers, and research completed in graduate school focused on marketing campaigns of socially conscious companies. She has a Master’s Degree in Integrated Marketing Communications from West Virginia University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications from John Carroll University.
