In addition to his teaching role in the WVU Reed College of Media’s online programs, Jimmy Sanderson is President of Sanderson Media Group, a consulting firm that works with organizations and executives in developing social media strategy. Sanderson spent 5 years as a professor in communication studies, maintaining an active research agenda on the influence of social media on sport. He has authored or co-authored 53 academic journal articles, and 19 book chapters. He is the author of It’s a Whole New Ballgame: How Social Media is Changing Sports and along with Chris Yandle, Developing Successful Social Media Plans in Sport Organizations.
Sanderson completed his Ph.D in Communication Studies in the Hugh Downs School of Human Communication at Arizona State University. He also worked for over 10 years in Human Resources Management.
