Undergraduate Academic Advisor

Emily Gerber serves as an undergraduate academic advisor for the Reed College of Media. In her role, she helps students transition to college, navigate their program and succeed post-graduation.
Gerber first became passionate about working in higher education as a resident assistant for Boreman Hall during her undergraduate studies. She later worked as the first marketing & recruitment graduate assistant for WVU Residence Life, where she crafted campaigns, managed social media, designed promotional materials and assisted in the recruitment and retention of resident assistants across campus.
Gerber is a native of Morgantown, W.Va., and is a two-time graduate of the Reed College of Media. She received bachelor’s degrees in public relations and geography in 2015, and she received her Master of Science in Journalism in 2020.
