We've Got Your Back

You'll have lots of people to turn to as you navigate college - whether you're applying to the university, scheduling courses, finding internships or looking for student resources - and anything that comes next, like finding your dream job!

Professional staff who are trained on program requirements, curriculum changes and graduation standards are available to guide you throughout your academic experience.

Big Campus, Intimate Community

You get all the benefits of a big university - Big 12 sports, groundbreaking research, state-of-the-art facilities - and the personal touch of our small college. We have our own in-house advising team and career coach, small class sizes and a 20:1 student to faculty ratio. So you’ll get lots of face time.

The People

Our College’s community is like no other. While we’re home to a diverse group of faculty, students and alumni, we share a similar mindset: once a Mountaineer, always a Mountaineer. And that speaks volumes considering our people both come from and go on to impressive places. We have Pulitzer Prize and Emmy Award winners, Oscar nominees, Google partners, best-selling authors and higher-ups at the world’s biggest advertising agencies and news outlets.

Tech and Immersion

You’ll work with common tech like digital SLR cameras and experiment with new, innovative tools like 360-degree video and augmented and virtual reality. Not only will you be trained on how to use these gadgets, but you’ll do real work with them. WVU College of Media faculty are pros on some of the latest journalism and communications tools and we invite innovators to campus to show us what we don't know.

Get Your Dream Job

Media professionals work in a variety of industries all over the world (news, sports, entertainment, government, healthcare, non-profit, environmental, etc). In the WVU Reed College of Media, you'll gain the knowledge, skills and experience to land the job that aligns with your unique interests.
