WVU alumnus Scott D. Widmeyer and his parents, Douglas and Ruth Ann Widmeyer, who supported the professorship and scholarship, will be honored during a ceremony at 4 p.m. Friday, Feb. 6, in Martin Hall on WVU’s Downtown Campus.
The Widmeyer Professorship in Public Relations was established in August by Scott Widmeyer, his parents and Widmeyer Communications.

WVU graduate Allison Latos will join longtime news anchor and fellow Mountaineer Eric Minor and chief meteorologist Kevin Carter on the anchor desk for “NEWS9 Live at Five.”
Kerri Kosten has been interested in sports her whole life, but when she was 15, West Virginia University’s play-by-play announcer Tony Caridi, invited her to join him on his Statewide Sports Line radio show. He told her then he thought she should be a sportscaster. That comment changed her outlook on life.
She writes headlines for WAJR-AM in Morgantown and she writes “glogs” or game logs, with play-by-play sports information on the internet.
