The P.I. Reed School of Journalism invites all SOJ students to apply for scholarships for the 2012-13 academic year. This is an especially exciting time in the life of the School of Journalism as a number of new scholarships have recently been created.
Interested students must complete the SOJ Scholarship Application by 4 p.m. on March 30, 2012. Completed applications will be reviewed by the SOJ Scholarship Selection Committee. As financial need is a determinant in scholarship selection, students must also submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by March 1.

The Appalachian Coal Country Team (ACCT) is seeking a Summer Program Member to begin in June, 2012. Transitions Online (TOL) is offering three courses in spring/summer 2012, covering international reporting, photojournalism and digital journalism. The courses will bring together students from around the world, and have a strong emphasis on “hands-on” training (including practical reporting assignments – a great way for the students to gain real-world reporting experience).
TOL is a nonprofit organization established to strengthen the professionalism, independence and impact of the news media in the post-communist countries of Europe and the former Soviet Union. TOL does this through a combination of journalism and media training programs, and the publication of Transitions Online magazine.
