Dr. Robert M. ‘Bob’ Ours, 77, of Morgantown, passed away on Tuesday July 29, 2014 at his home. He was born September 15, 1936, in Parkersburg, WV, son to the late Henry and Grace Simon Ours. He found great joy in his family, friends, music, nature, and bringing history to life.
The Division of Student Affairs is now the Division of Student Life. The name change was initiated by President E. Gordon Gee, who believes that the new name better represents the Division’s focus. Stephanie Ackerman (BSJ, 2005) is a member of NASCAR’s Integrated Marketing Communications (IMC) team in Charlotte, North Carolina. When Ackerman, a native of Wheeling, West Virginia, started working for NASCAR in 2012, she could count on one hand the number of drivers she knew. Hilary Kinney, a West Virginia University sophomore journalism and geography student, has spent her summer working to ensure there is less food waste in the state of West Virginia. Assistant Professor Dana Coester, who also serves as the acting creative director for the College’s new Media Innovation Center (opening next year), was interviewed in an article on PBS’s MediaShift alongside three other universities that are creating “maker spaces.” The Innovation Center is a 10,000-square-foot project that will allow students to collaborate on projects in creative ways. The University of Nevada, Reno’s Integrated Marketing team is seeking a web content strategist. Reporting to the Project Manager within the University of Nevada, Reno’s Integrated Marketing team, the Web Content Strategist works with website analytics and key campus constituencies to streamline and continuously enhance the University’s homepage, top-level and high-traffic websites. Specializing in information architecture, content strategy and marketing-based writing, this position assists marketing colleagues in implementing web initiatives and social media efforts across the institution. Candidate will strategize our top-level web presence, will make sure what we do is effective and will keep us in touch with industry best practices.
