SOJ student among 2012 McNair Scholars

Nineteen West Virginia University students, representing a diverse range of majors from aerospace engineering to psychology, have been chosen for the latest class of McNair Scholars.

Through financial aid, academic advising and undergraduate research opportunities, the McNair Scholars Program pushes underrepresented students toward their doctorate degrees.

Apply for August Graduation--Deadline June 8

If you anticipate graduating in August of 2012, you must complete a application packet and return it to Ronda Maxon in 107 Martin Hall by June 8, 2012. You MUST complete and return the application by this date to ensure an audit is completed before second summer session starts.

You must make sure to mark the correct term of graduation, August on your application. Students will only be graduating in August if they are completing all of their course requirements at the end of the summer semester.

ACCT Seeks Summer Intern

The Appalachian Coal Country Team (ACCT) is seeking a Summer Program Member to begin in June, 2012. The Environmental Steward Summer Program, the Office of Surface Mining (OSM) and the Department of the Interior’s Office of Youth, Partnerships & Service, are providing opportunities for 10 week summer service positions. These positions are intended to create environmental stewardship opportunities and provide professional development and hands-on experience for the Summer Program Members.
