American Red Cross summer internship

The American Red Cross offers exceptional undergraduate and graduate college students an engaging 10-week internship at American Red Cross National Headquarters in Washington, DC through our Summer Internship Program. The interns are matched with a specific department at our national headquarters, have the opportunity to work on advancing critical projects for the respective units, receive professional development training, and have opportunities to meet with Red Cross leadership.

The overall aim of the program is to attract a pool of diverse, skilled, enthusiastic young professionals and give them an opportunity to build a long-term, substantive relationship with the American Red Cross.

What are the benefits associated with the program?

  • Gain substantive professional experience as well as exposure to critical issues in non-profit management and the non-profit sector.
  • Develop a comprehensive perspective on the American Red Cross mission and service delivery processes at the local, national and international level.

Positions are filled on a rolling basis so it’s best to apply early in 2011. Internships include Business Planning and Administration, Chapter Operations Performance Analyst, Communications, Corporate Partnerships, Equipment Management Assistant, Foundation Partnerships, Hospital Marketing and Competitive Analysis, Hurricane Recovery, Learning Management System, Partner Services, Youth Medical, Youth Outreach.
