The App Launch Pad - April Workshops for WVU Students Announced

Students interested in learning to develop iPhone Apps are invited to participate in this series of workshops, then enter a contest to win an iPad2.

April 5 Workshop- 6:00 pm Mountainlair (Rhododendron Room – Lair)

Student App developers Jared Crawford, Armand Patella, and Logan Spears will explain the process of developing Apps for the iPhone. Developers, designers and those with no technical experience are all welcome. Pizza will provided and there will be an opportunity to network to find students with complementarity skills.

April 15-16- App Developers Workshop (Times and Rooms TBD):

This intensive workshop will teach students the technical elements required for App development. All WVU students are welcome but CS 111 or equivalent experience is recommended. The workshop will be instructed by Mark Dalrymple principle author of “Learning Objective-C on the Macintosh” and “Advanced Mac OS X Programming”

Cost is $10.00 and Lunch will be provided. Reservations will be taken on first come first serve basis and space is limited. Students should contact Christine.Feathers@mail.wvu.edu to reserve a spot.

The App Development Contest- DEADLINE May 16:

Students working alone or in teams of two will have until May 16 to develop an iPhone application and prepare a promotional video. Videos will be judged and each member of the winning team will be awarded an iPad2.
