University of Missouri Health Care seeks graphic designer

Summary:

The graphic designer produces publications and marketing materials for University of Missouri Health Care.

Required Qualifications:

A bachelor’s degree in art, graphic design, or a closely related design field is necessary. Two to three years of experience in commercial art or graphics design is required. The applicant must possess publishing and computer-based graphic design skills including competency with Macintosh hardware, Adobe Creative Suite 5 and Microsoft Office software.

Skills:

The applicant must have excellent customer service skills, excellent spelling and grammar skills, ability to articulate thoughts and ideas to co-workers and clients, ability to retain focus to see projects from conception to completion, ability to work on multiple projects at once as well as the ability to set and meet deadlines. The applicant must be able to lift boxes and materials of 30 pounds, cut matte boards and mount posters, maintain printers (i.e., loading paper and replacing ink cartridges) and attend photo shoots and meetings with clients outside the office and building.

Responsibilities:

The graphic designer will design publications, displays, marketing materials and presentations, develop creative concepts and serve as art director for photos for various publications and advertisements.

Consult with clients or supervisors on the planning, illustration, printing and viewing of arts/layouts for publications and marketing materials and publications.
Estimate budget and coordinate with printers the production and reproduction of art work (printed materials).

Assist and review the work of graphic design interns. Assist in the maintenance of equipment used in the Creative Services Department.

Work hours and location:

8 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday through Friday in University Physicians Medical Building
