Web and Graphic Design Intern: Wonderful paid opportunity to build your professional design and marketing portfolio

We are seeking a mature, self-directed designer to work as the Eberly College of Arts and Science’s web and graphic design intern. The individual will report to the marketing and communications coordinator and the web designer.

Candidate will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Creating or updating graphic materials including postcards, brochures, newsletters, posters, etc. for the departments and programs of the Eberly College utilizing Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator.
  • Updating and maintaining Eberly’s social networking presence including Facebook, Twitter, and Youtube.
  • Creating or updating website content for the Eberly College of Arts and Sciences and its departments and programs.

Candidate must meet the following requirements:

  • Demonstrated graphic design ability and creativity
  • Demonstrated written communication skills
  • Knowledge of integrated marketing principles including audience targeting
  • Proficient in Adobe InDesign, DreamWeaver, Photoshop, Illustrator
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Powerpoint
  • Proficiency in HTML and CSS

The following skills sets are helpful but not required:

  • Knowledge of Slate content management system
  • Proficiency with digital camera and video camera
  • Proficiency in video editing

Start Date: Spring/Summer 2011

Starting salary: $10 hr
