On Monday, October 10, the WVU Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) Chapter will host guest speaker, Victoria Rhil, Intern Queen ambassador. Ms. Lauren Berger, the self-proclaimed Intern Queen, selected Rhil to be the liaison between Berger’s company the WVUcampus. Rhil will discuss how she got the position and what it has allowed her to do over the past year.
If you are interested in joining PRSSA, the group holds weekly meetings every Monday at 5 pm in room 205 Martin Hall. All majors are invited.
Political cartoonist Adam Zyglis will give a talk about his work at West Virginia University on October 7 from 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the Life Sciences Building room G15.
Zyglis is the staff cartoonist for The Buffalo News. His cartoons are internationally syndicated and have appeared in many publications around the world, including The Washington Post, USAToday, The New York Times and Los Angeles Times. In his spare time he has done freelance work in book illustration and storyboarding. His work has also appeared magazines such as The Week, Time, and MAD Magazine.
The Butler Eagle has an opening for a full-time staff writer. Butler is about 40 miles north of Pittsburgh.
Half of the position is handling obituaries on a daily basis and handling community news items such as scout news, military service items and school menus. The other half is reporting and writing news and feature stories. Attention to detail is a must. The position will be open at the end of the year. The shop will be held in the Mountainlair, Oct. 5 & 6, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Bonnstetter and Diamond were crowned during halftime of the WVU-Bowling Green football game on Saturday (Oct. 1) at Milan Puskar Stadium.
Bonnstetter is a public relations and Spanish double-major from Morgantown, and is part of the WVU club tennis team and the Alpha Kappi Psi business fraternity, where he has held the positions of pledge class community service chair, pledge board, pledge master and warden.
