Apply for May Graduation (Deadline Feb. 6)

PLEASE NOTE: If you are not eligible to graduate in May or August or if you have already graduated please disregard this message!

Attention School of Journalism Seniors:
Graduation season will be here soon, and the School of Journalism is already making plans for another memorable ceremony. But first, we need you to take action!

Step 1. APPLY FOR GRADUATION

If you anticipate graduating in May 2012, you must complete the Graduation Application Packet and return it to Ronda Maxon in 107 Martin Hall by Feb. 6, 2012. You MUSTcomplete and return the application by this date to ensure an audit is completed before mid-semester courses begin.

You are only considered a May graduate if you are completing all of your course requirements at the end of the spring semester. Be sure to mark the correct term of graduation (May) on your application.

If you are completing your course requirements in the summer term and are an August graduate, DO NOT complete a Graduation Application Packet at this time. You will be notified at a later date to apply for graduation.

Please return your completed application to 107 Martin Hall. Place it in the envelope on Ronda’s cubicle marked Completed Graduation Applications. A completed Graduation Application Packet must also include a phone number at which she may contact you in case I have any questions.

Questions about graduation certification should be directed to Ronda at ronda.maxon@mail.wvu.edu or 304-293-3507.

Step 2. RSVP for the COMMENCEMENT CEREMONY

The School of Journalism will host a formal Commencement Ceremony in May. Both May and August graduates are invited to attend the ceremony.

Prospective May and August graduates will receive emails later this spring with instructions on how to RSVP for the ceremony. If you plan to attend the ceremony, you MUST RSVP. Please watch your email and SOJ eNews for specific details. General information about the ceremony is currently available online at http://journalism.wvu.edu/events/may-commencement-2012.
