SOJ students report for ESPNU

Journalism students Jon Rudder and Sebouh Majarian, sports anchors for “WVU News”, had stories featured on ESPNU “Campus Connection” this month. Rudder’s story focused on West Virginia women’s basketball player Asya Bussie and aired during halftime of the WVU/Notre Dame women’s game. Rudder also had the opportunity to do sideline reporting during the nationally televised game.

Majarian’s story focused on what motivates the WVU Men’s Basketball team.

The P.I. Reed School of Journalism has had an official partnership with ESPN since the fall of 2008. The student-generated content initiative, designed to provide college journalists hands-on experience with the network broadcasts, also crosses over to the ESPNU.com website and other ESPN Inc. platforms, including ESPNU, ESPN2 and ESPN radio.
