WVU Career Services Center seeks Marketing and Outreach Graduate Assistant

Career Services Marketing and Outreach Graduate Assistant job description:
The Marketing and Outreach Graduate Assistant (GA) will be a key player in developing, implementing, and evaluating outreach to students and employers on behalf of the WVU Career Services Center. The GA will also help assist in the day to day operations of the center, including but not limited to: on-campus interviews, career fairs, employer booths, classroom presentations, information sessions, and job postings.

Reports to:
Assistant Director of Employer Relations, WVU Career Services Center

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Help Assistant Director of Employer Relations and Event Coordinator with the planning and execution of all career fairs and events
  • Help develop marketing strategies to increase both employer and student participation in career fairs and events
  • Research and contact potential employers for inclusion in career fairs and events
  • Provide information to key contacts within academic departments regarding career fairs and events
  • Provide assistance as needed during career fairs an events
  • Research and identify potential employers for on-campus interviews
  • Post job opportunities through online research and based on recommendations of WVU faculty and staff
  • Research and report market trends in various industries and to CSC administrators
  • Assist in scheduling of information sessions and classroom presentations
  • Aide in job postings and on-campus interviews (MountaineerTRAK)
  • Others as assigned

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Enrolled at WVU in a graduate program starting in Summer or Fall 2012
  • Exhibit excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Possess an interest in job placement, communication studies, event planning, human resources, marketing, public relations, or related field
  • Have an aptitude for technology and online networking sites
  • Applicant must behave professionally, be self-motivated and responsible, and be dependable and punctual
