The West Virginia Public Theater is looking for a creative videographer to help shoot a commercial this summer. The videographer should have access to his or her own equipment. Communications intern needed for WV non-profits

The communications coordinator for several West Virginia non-profit groups is looking for a summer intern to help draft newsletters, e-blasts, press releases web content and social media updates. This will be a remote position, with minimal training and will pay $12 per hour. Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press seeks interns

The Reporters Committee offers internships at its Arlington, Va., headquarters on a regular basis. Interns write articles for their newsletter and magazine, contribute to their booklets on specific legal topics, and conduct research for other special projects.

The Reporters Committee also provides its interns with regular opportunities to interact with working journalists, media lawyers and policymakers through seminars around Washington, D.C. Interns may attend congressional hearings, hear arguments in the U.S. Supreme Court or other federal appellate courts, and visit newsrooms and government agencies where they can learn firsthand about free-press issues.

Matthew Cummings and Karen Freberg recognized as the 2012 Alexia Vanides IMC Teaching Award Winners

Cummings resides in Erie, PA, and teaches IMC 610 – Introduction to IMC. He is the vice president of integrated marketing communications for Core Creative, a full service agency serving manufacturing, retail, education and nonprofit clients in western Pennsylvania. He is the chief marketing communications strategist for the agency and specializes in national public relations, strategic media relations and social media.

Freberg is currently an Assistant Professor at the University of Louisville in Louisville, KY. She teaches IMC 618 – PR Concepts and Strategy – for the WVU IMC program. Along with her teaching experience, she has presented at many U.S. and international research conferences, including conferences in the Netherlands, Greece, Italy and China.

WVU Foundation launches "State of Minds" campaign

West Virginia University has a lofty goal for the next few years – raise $750 million.

President Jim Clements joined WVU Foundation representatives June 2 in announcing the official kickoff of a comprehensive campaign to raise private dollars for the state’s flagship university and its regional campuses through December 2015.
