The Times West Virginian, a seven-day, award-winning newspaper in Fairmont, W.Va., has an immediate opening for a full-time multimedia reporter. The reporter will be responsible for covering city council, higher education, breaking news and general assignments. Strong consideration will be given to the candidate who is gifted in translating “government-ese” and relating to the reader why the story is important.
The candidate should have multimedia experience, including basic photography and videography, social media and be able to make simple updates to a website. The candidate should have a journalism background with a degree in journalism or a related field. Experience is preferred.
