Journalism junior Brittany Furbee is getting national recognition for an infographic she submitted to a contest sponsored by the Pew Research Center’s Project for Excellence In Journalism (PEJ). Furbee’s submission was part of an assignment for Dr. Britten’s Graphics and Data Journalism class. Each student was asked to create a graphic visualizing data about how people use digital technology to get their news. The SOJ’s Visual Journalism class was mentioned on the winner’s page, and Judges said Furbee’s submission “was the cleanest graphic telling the best story, and had a great overall sense of layout and visual hierarchy.” To learn more visit: http://blog.visual.ly/winners-of-the-pej-economist-infographic-challenge/
